Strengthening Safety at DORY Swimming School: My 2025 Lifesaving & CPR Renewals
At DORY Swimming School, the safety of every swimmer is always our highest priority. As the lead coach, I believe that continuous learning and regular skill renewal are essential to maintain a safe and supportive environment for all our students.
In 2025, I successfully completed several important certifications and renewals that further strengthen our school’s commitment to safety and professional excellence.
Lifesaving & CPR Certification Renewal (2025)
I renewed my Life Saving CPR certification, ensuring I am fully up-to-date with the latest emergency response techniques. This includes:
High-quality CPR for adults and children
Safe rescue breathing methods
Updated emergency protocols
Responding confidently during sudden aquatic or medical emergencies
This renewal ensures that every session is backed by internationally-recognized lifesaving standards.
ILS Pool Lifeguard Certification
I also completed the International Life Saving (ILS) Pool Lifeguard program. This globally respected certification focuses on:
Professional pool surveillance techniques
Safe and effective rescue methods
Managing spinal injuries in water
Preventing incidents through proactive monitoring
With this qualification, students and parents can trust that our pool sessions are supervised by a trained lifeguard who understands every aspect of aquatic safety.
First Aid Level I & Level II
To further enhance on-land emergency readiness, I completed both First Aid Level I and Level II courses. These include:
First Aid Level I
Basic life support
Treating minor wounds and injuries
Responding to burns, sprains, and fractures
Emergency communication and scene assessment
First Aid Level II
Advanced injury management
Handling medical emergencies (breathing issues, allergic reactions, etc.)
Safe bandaging and splinting techniques
Managing multiple casualties until help arrives
These qualifications allow me to respond effectively to both minor and major situations, ensuring that students are safe not just in water, but on the pool deck as well.
