Swim with Coach Suranga: A Holiday Swim Camp Filled with Fun, Family, and Memories

At DORY Swimming School, we strongly believe that swimming is not only about learning techniques or improving speed. It is about confidence, safety, joy, and building lifelong connections with water. With this belief in mind, we recently organized a special holiday swim camp titled “Swim with Coach Suranga”, and it turned out to be a truly unforgettable experience.

Unlike our regular swim sessions, this camp was designed purely for fun and togetherness. It was not a competition, not a training session, and not limited to a specific age group. Children, adult learners, and even parents who could swim were warmly welcomed to join. The idea was simple — to step away from routine lessons and enjoy swimming together as one family.

The swim camp was held at the Sports Complex in Digana, where participants gathered with excitement and enthusiasm. The session included fun swimming activities, friendly races, interactive games, demonstrations, and basic life-saving skills. One of the most special moments was seeing parents swimming alongside their children, sharing laughter and encouragement in the water. These moments beautifully highlighted how swimming can strengthen family bonds and build trust.

As a coach, being in the water with my students was a deeply meaningful experience. Swimming together, playing together, and laughing together allowed everyone to feel relaxed and confident. The smiles on the children’s faces and the positive energy from parents made the entire session incredibly rewarding.

At the end of the swim camp, all participants were invited to a small tea party at my home in Digana. This simple gathering became a warm and joyful extension of the day, where families shared conversations, laughter, and reflections about the swim camp. Everyone left with happy hearts and beautiful memories.

The success of “Swim with Coach Suranga” reminded us that swimming is more than a sport — it is a life skill that brings people together. We are truly grateful to all the parents and students who trusted us and participated with such enthusiasm.

With God’s blessings, we look forward to organizing more events like this in the future, continuing to create confident swimmers, happy families, and meaningful memories through swimming.
